All volunteers (18 years and older) are required to submit a Childline Child Abuse History Clearance and a Pennsylvania State Police Criminal Record Check that are less than 5 years old from date of registration. These can be copies of clearances you have obtained at church or from a similar organization, or you can go online and get them yourself. All camp volunteers must submit clearances to the New Cumberland Patriot Camp Director prior to the commencement of service.
From the Pennsylvania Department of Human Services:
All prospective volunteers must obtain the following clearances:
1. Report of criminal history from the Pennsylvania State Police (PSP)
2. Child Abuse History Clearance from the Department of Human Services (Child Abuse)
3. Additionally, a fingerprint based federal criminal history (FBI) submitted through the Pennsylvania State Police or its authorized agent is required if the volunteer has lived outside the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania in the last 10 years.
